Course: “Promoting and Advancing Inclusive Excellence in Clinical Education”
DPT students bring a diversity of identities and experiences that reflect the patients they serve. This workshop will provide clinical instructors with the knowledge and practical tools to create inclusive learning environments that support all students. Going beyond learning accommodations, participants will explore evidence-based strategies to foster equitable learning experiences in the clinical setting. Through interactive discussions, a panel, and case-based learning, attendees will gain actionable insights to enhance their clinical teaching practices. A certificate for 3 continuing competency hours will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
Speaker: Dr. Lisa VanHoose, PT, PhD, MPH, FAPTA, FAAPT
Dr. VanHoose is a trailblazing physical therapist, educator, and researcher whose work has transformed the fields of oncologic rehabilitation and health equity. As a Professor and Program Director in the Physical Therapy Department at the University of Louisiana Monroe, Dr. VanHoose is not just shaping future healthcare leaders—she is leading the charge for change.
