Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP)- Level 2 (Virtual)

**TWO-DAY COURSE on Saturday, March 21 & March 28th (8am-6pm)

The Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) Level 2 course is designed for those who have successfully completed the APTA CCIP Level 1 course . The CCIP Level 2 course both applies and goes beyond the concepts of the structured and effective learning environment from CCIP Level 1 to allow participants to further develop their clinical teaching skills and to construct a clinical curriculum for their clinical education program/facility. The program’s unique philosophy and design will enable clinical educators to achieve the best outcomes for student learning.

Course Objectives: At the conclusion of the Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program Level 2, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the benefits and key components of a clinical curriculum.
  • Advance clinical teaching concepts learned in CCIP Level 1, as applied to the novice-mastery clinical practice continuum.
  • Integrate professionalism in a clinical curriculum that promotes the guiding principles to achieve the Vision for the Physical Therapy Profession and the core values.
  • Diagnose and foster a student’s clinical reasoning
  • Outline a clinical curriculum to provide key learning experiences critical to patient and client management in the student’s practice upon graduation and licensure.

The program is divided into three distinct parts:

  • Pre-course assignments that include reading four articles and completing three online APTA Professionalism Modules
  • Clinical instructor education via an interactive didactic course format that is appropriate for all clinical educators
  • Assessment of learning through an Assessment Center format to apply information from the CCIP Level 2 These components are used together to first provide, and then assess, the knowledge and skills identified as essential for Level 2 CIs. Only CCIP Level 2 Credentialed Clinical Trainers recognized by the APTA can conduct CCIP Level 2 courses.
